New York, New York

It’s my birthday in a few weeks time and what better way to celebrate by going to the one and only Big Apple.. aka NYC  (Cue Taylor Swift Welcome to New York….)

I am so excited not only to visit the city but because I will be joined by 4 of my best friends (watch out America)! The last and only time I’ve been to New York was back in 2011 after my summer doing Camp America. Whilst it was amazing, I only had 1 day to explore and unfortunately it was in the middle of ‘Hurricane Irene’ which meant almost everything was closed and I didn’t actually get the opportunity to see, well anything. Even the Broadway shows were cancelled which as you can imagine was totally devastating for me!! The city may never sleep but it does shut down when faced with 195 km/h winds…

This time (weather permitting, fingers/toes/eyes crossed) I will be able to do everything, well everything I can fit in to 5 days. I would really appreciate any tips from anyone who lives in New York or who has been recently, maybe some things that aren’t typically touristy. I would also like to hear from anyone who’s bought tickets for Broadway shows – Am I better to get them in advance/what’s the best strategy for getting tickets, because I am going this time, nothing can stop me (I'm talking about you Jonas Blizzard!). To add to the excitement on my last trip I wasn’t quite 21 yet, but this time I am so you know what that means…. Bar suggestions more than welcome!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, and yes I am taking basically all the clothes I own to try and stay warm!
